I purchased the recommended 24 diapers and found that I only need 12 (washing every 2 - 3 days). When my diapers arrived I decided to try out a dozen and see if I needed to use more than that. I pre-washed all 24 so that they would be ready to use if I needed them. I have been using 12 diapers for 6 months now and have never needed to get out the rest. These diapers are unused, brand new, and up for bids. They have already been pre-washed (according to the maufacturer's instructions) with an additive-free detergent, line dryed, and are ready to use. Pre-washing at least 3 times is necessary to fluff up the fibers and create a very absorbant diaper. These will be ready to use upon arrival. Each diaper comes with the regular Cotton Babies insert and a Cotton Babies newborn insert. You can use both together for overnights. They are all white (practical- with the colored ones you have to worry about them showing through baby's clothes, or sticking out the top of her pants....and what if the diaper she is wearing doesn't match her outfit?!). I will also include 5 hand-made (pre-washed, but new & never used) 100% cotton flannel reuseable baby wipes. They are so soft and come in a variety of cute designs. Using cloth diapers has saved us some serious $$$ over the past several months and will continue to do so until potty training success. It is a wise investment!
