She is now in her 90's and has been spinning and weaving all her life. I was thrilled to be able to buy her yarn stash when she moved to an assisted living facility. About the yarn: It is 100% Wool, hand-spun and hand dyed. Unlike commercially produced woolen yarns, this one has not been treated with any chemicals (apart from the color), and retained its original lanolin content. The thick and thin variations due to the hand spinning make for an interesting texture. The wonderful rainbow colors are: yellow, green, turquoise, blue, navy, red and orange-brown. About the soaker: As with all Grateful Buns, it is truly "one-of-a-kind"; I actually used up all of the blue yarn and had to use some of the brown/orange yarn to finish the waist. You can see it in the picture. However, it is on the inside and not visible when the soaker is worn. Also, as usual, the "wet-zone" is done in a double knit for extra absorbency. This soaker also has a higher rise....I think I got carried away with this beautiful yarn......For more info, and why I use smaller needles to make these, please have a look at my "me" page. The size is XL, fitting over 30 lbs (13,5 Kilo) with measurements as follows: Waist : 22" at rest, stretching to over 28" - fully adjustable with buttonhole elastic Rise: 12.5" in front, 14" in back for a better fit over bulky diapers Legs: 10" at rest, stretching to over 16" Adjustable elastic in the waist for a custom fit, and to keep up the soaker AND the diaper!
