Bpa is a chemical used in epoxy resin and polycarbonate plastics.  The same plastics they make many transparent bottles and food containers from.  This chemical is able to leach from the plastic container especially under hot conditions and/or with harsh cleaning detergents.  Studies link bpa to breast cancer and reproductive mutations   About Klean Kanteens: This light weight sippy cup is made out of a high quality sanitary grade stainless steel.
