Description
rapson rapid rockerDesigned by Ralph Rapson,1945 Retails for $1475.00 In mint condition!!!!!! Color is Cardinal Red. The Rapson Rapid Rocker was designed by Ralph Rapson in 1945 as a part of the Knoll "Rapson Line." The rocker was one of eight products introduced by Rapson. Due to wartime restrictions, the rocker Knoll produced was constructed of straight wood components while the orignal design for the rocker was bentwood. The Rapson Rocker has been reintroduced, with minor improvements resulting from fabrication techniques. Ralph Rapson is personally overseeing production. The Rapson Rocker is not a piece with compromised design; it maintains all of its original integrity. Rapson Rocker The bentwood Rapson Rocker, designed by architect Ralph Rapson, was first built for the Museum of Modern Art in 1939. A solid wood version of the chair was offered to the public in 1948 by Knoll, who sold it as part of their "Rapson Line." Knoll sold the design to Bloomingdale's in 1945. Bloomingdale's took out a full-page ad in the New York Times to promote the chair, proclaiming it an "innovative and attractive modern take on a traditional piece."
