We used this with my son to help him learn to sit up and it traveled in the car on visits to houses to give him another option besides just laying on the floor. When he began to crawl, it kept him occupied in sitting position to eat, play, or watch tv!  I never used to place mats- so they're still NEW. The feeding tray has been run through the dishwasher and sprayed with clorox anywhere spray. The toy (made by sassy) that attaches to tray, seat itself, and other attachment for seat have been sprayed as well.
